NSW: As the retail industry enters the lead-up to the busy Christmas period, an important issue confronting the industry is that of retail crime and loss prevention.
The NRA takes this matter very seriously, and over time has established a very close working relationship with the NSW Police Force to combat the issue of retail crime.
Earlier this year, in conjunction with the NSW Government, the NSW Police Force launched an exciting new resource that enables the community to report crime online.
The NSW Police Force Community Portal is secure, easy to use, confidential and allows non-emergency online police reports for incidents that occurred within NSW to be created quickly and easily via a secure website. Online Police Reports which can currently be created are lost property, intentional damage or graffiti and theft.
Securely create a Service NSW ‘MyServiceNSW’ account, which can then link to the NSW Police Force. Once the link is created, you can access and logon to the NSW Police Force Community Portal and make a report. Once created, the report creator will be kept up-to-date every step of the way via email and through the portal. Historical report(s) can always be accessed whilst the MyServiceNSW account logon is active.
The NSW Police Force Community Portal is intended to complement traditional methods of reporting crime, as opposed to replacing it. Attendance at a police station or calling the Police Assistance Line (131 444) is still available. Remember, if the incident is an emergency or occurring now, contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.
If you are subject to any retail crime, you can create an account and report the incident online at https://portal.police.nsw.gov.au/
