Tim Schaafsma
A well established and proven leader, Tim is the President for Coco Republic, Australia and New Zealand. He understands commercial and private enterprise exceptionally well having served as Principal Consultant at Lewisham Consulting, and establishing his own start-up, Fitchies, bringing a new concept of fast-food to market. In addition, Tim is the Chairman of the Australian Bedding Stewardship Council, ensuring mattresses and bed products are eliminated from landfill and recycled.
Prior to this, Tim was a Director and COO at Greenlit Brands. In 2002 as General Counsel, responsible for the group’s legal and compliance functions, and was involved in the privatisation of Freedom Group in 2003. In 2008, Tim became responsible for certain operational areas of the business, including Freedom Home, Bayswiss and Bay Leather Republic and was appointed Managing Director of Freedom in November 2010.
In 2018, Tim was appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Greenlit Brands business, with responsibility for the Group’s legal, risk, property, manufacturing, logistics, external relations and corporate solutions divisions.
Before joining Freedom, Tim was a solicitor in private practice and a Legal Counsel at McDonald’s Australia.
Since 2015, Tim has been a member of the Board of the National Retail Association.
