Screenshop

Love her or loathe her, Kim Kardashian West is certainly shaking up how the world does business.

The reality star has this week launched ScreenShop, an app that allows you to screenshot fashion you’ve fallen in love with on Instagram, and then find similar pieces in your price range.

Kim KW has been an advisor for more than a year to the ScreenShop team, start-up developer Craze, based in New York.

The app has reportedly paired with big-name labels like ASOS, TopShop, Boohoo.com, Forever 21, Saks Fifth Avenue and Kanye West’s Yeezy, and has amassed a database of around 10 million products from more than 460 brands.

It can help you find similar options to virtually anything you can screenshot, even the multi-coloured puffy skirt your mum wore for Christmas dinner in 1986 if you really want it to!

Co-founder Mully Hurwitz said she found herself taking screenshots of Instagram looks, and then googling products using general search terms like ‘floral dress’ of ‘Yves saint Laurent black pumps’ – something she found totally cumbersome, but without any real alternative.

ScreenShop’s closest competitor would be LikeToKnowIt – around 12,000 influencers snap their outfits, upload them to the app and then tag the products and links to buy within the app, however it’s limited to products chosen and snapped by those influences. This latest offering allows users to search for absolutely anything they see.

So far, its 20,000 beta users have been uploading an average five to six screenshots into the app per week, so it will be interesting to see how it will be embraced now its officially available.
