Brisbane restrictions

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has just announced a raft of new restrictions for eleven Queensland Local Government Areas, which will come into effect from 1am on Tuesday, 29 June 2021 and be in force for 14 days.

The Local Government Areas of Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Scenic Rim, Moreton, Lockyer Valley and Somerset will be affected by these restrictions. The restrictions are:

  • Wearing of masks will be mandatory outside the home – if you have access to a mask, begin wearing the mask as soon as possible.
  • The one person per four square metre rule will apply in all venues
  • Patrons must be seated while eating and drinking – no standing service
  • No dancing at entertainment venues

 

Check In Qld App contact tracing

The use of the Check In Qld App became mandatory for more businesses from Friday, 25 June, with a two week grace period in place until 9 July.

Businesses required to use the app to check in customers include:

  • Retail shopping centres
  • Department stores
  • Pharmacies
  • Supermarkets, grocers, bakeries, butcher’s shops, fishmongers
  • Convenience stores, delicatessens
  • Post offices
  • Beauty and personal care services including hairdressing, beauty therapy and nail services
  • Leisure and recreation facilities such as gyms, health clubs, indoor pools, and more.
  • Customer service branches of insurers, hardware stores, furniture stores, electrical stores, recreational goods stores, clothing and footwear stores, newsagents, a part of a place engaged in agriculture or industry which sells to the public the produce or products of the business, and indoor and outdoor food, craft or other markets.

Any part of a place of businesses to which the public has access will need to have the contact tracing in place.
