Last week, Brian Walker, CEO & Founder of Retail Doctor Group, met with Luke Parish, this year’s runner up for the National Retail Association’s Young Retailer of the Year.
Luke is the Area Manager for Boating Camping Fishing Ltd (BCF) in NSW West, and his submission in the 2016 Young Retailer of the Year competition impressed the judges as a retail talent to watch.
The Young Retailer of the Year Award is a hotly contested competition which forms part of the National Retail Association’s annual Rewards for Excellence, and aims to attract, recognise and nurture exceptionally talented retail staff under the age of 25 years.
As Young Retailer of the Year Runner-Up, Luke won a 12 month scholarship with Retail Doctor Group, including one-on-one mentoring from CEO and Founder Brian Walker.
Last week, Luke met with Brian and the Retail Doctor Group team at their offices in Sydney for his first mentoring session.
The 12 month mentorship program includes retail tours to understand what it takes to be a truly “fit” retail business, co-development of an individual growth and career development plan, as well as regular mentoring sessions with Brian Walker to discuss and improve Luke’s skills and expertise in the retail discipline.
Opportunities are already come to fruition for Luke with invitations to industry events and complimentary copies of collaborative research projects with Retail Doctor Group’s global retail expert network.
We would like to extend our thanks to Brian Walker and the Retail Doctor Group team for their continued sponsorship of the Rewards for Excellence program and for sharing their wisdom and experience with retail talent of the future.
